PDA in the Family online book launch
Join me and Julia Daunt, adult PDAer, for an online Q&A session
Our book, PDA in the Family, is out now!
What a whirlwind the past few days/weeks/months have been! And the years before that, when I was busy writing… to be honest, this book has been years in the making. 14 in fact.
14 years ago our younger daughter was diagnosed with autism. This book shares our family life experiences since then. It covers the diagnosis, home and school life and of course the ‘lightbulb moment’ when we first heard about Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).
Mr C has written a chapter for this book which makes it pretty unique because I don’t think many men share their thoughts on topics like this. I hope you like it all (but please, there’s no need for anyone else to tell me his chapter is the best one…!).
My greatest hope is that this book reaches people who have not yet heard about PDA. Families, educators, healthcare professionals. Anyone who spends time with children.
Because you can’t know what you don’t know… and what I want people to know is that there is a different way you can be. Those who can be flexible and accommodating of others’ needs should take the time to do that.
I will be holding an online launch/Q&A session for the book next Wednesday 31st January from 7.30pm (note the change of date. Still lots going on around here!). I’m thrilled that adult PDAer, Julia Daunt, who wrote the foreword for my book, will be joining me. A huge thank you to the people who have already left amazing reviews on Amazon, they are SO much appreciated. The more the merrier, if anyone else gets time - reviews definitely help other people decide whether to buy the book! And the more books out there, the more people will know about PDA…
Thanks so much everyone for your support, we are feeling the love
